A September to Remember
These last few weeks have been ones for the record books. First a magnitude 5.8 earthquake shook us and shook us up, especially Lily, who was at home at the time having her afternoon rest. When her bed started shaking, she was convinced it was Brother Luke under her bed playing a trick on her (never mind that Luke was a hundred miles away at college).
Then, later that same week, hurricane Irene blew through. Fortunately the storm was more show than substance and we escaped with little effect. Fast forward to this week, and yet another storm, tropical storm Lee, sluggishly moved through the area, this time dropping 10-15 inches of rain on an already water-logged Pennsylvania. This time, the effects were devestating with horrific flooding that has not been seen since Agnes in 1972. It has been so bad that schools have been closed and many roads are completley impassable. Nevertheless, Lily did manage to get in a few good days of school in this, her first week back.

And on a completely different note...
