Gymnastics Buddies

Lily is still going to gymnastics class each week and she is still having a ball. Slowly but surely the little things are clicking with her and she is able to do so much more than when she started back in the fall. She's a wiz at forward rolls, she's beginning to gain confidence on the balance beam, she can not only tell you the difference between a straddle and a pike but she can also demonstrate them, and she's finally getting the hang of using her arm strength to lift her head off the ground during teacher-assisted handstands (this is a huge improvement over the bent elbows and floppy wrists she used to have whilst upside down).

The picture above is of her teacher, Miss Robin, and her classmates Anaya, Evan, and Molly. Sadly, Lily's friend Molly, who just turned 5, has now moved up to be with the older kids. Lily was devastated to lose her friend, but happily, we plan to see Molly and her family soon for a picnic lunch, which has Lily endlessly chattering about when and where and how we'll see Molly next. There's nothing the girl loves more than planning her social calendar, which leaves me shaking my head and wondering what were in for once she's a teenager.
