Lily's First Haircut

Or rather, Lily's first professional haircut. Her hair has been so slow to grow, so slow to fill out, that up until now, I've just been giving her little trims at home since there didn't seem to be much that a professional stylist could do with so little hair. Recently, though, the girl's hair has been getting longer and fuller (finally!) and I had to concede that it was starting to be beyond my rudimentary skills to give the girl a proper cut. So, off we went today to the salon. We'd been talking about doing this for several weeks, so Lily was prepared, even excited. She was completely serious and perfectly poised as the hairdresser misted and combed and cut. I was so proud of her maturity and composure and only wished she had retained something of either the remainder of the day.





And here she is, loving her new bangs and her new doll which she got as a special treat after the haircut.
