Strummin' on the Old Banjo
When Lily was born, a couple of my musical buddies got her a little box of play instruments and noisemakers. She's always enjoyed banging on the bongos or blowing the harmonica, and watching me play or Luke play always seems to inspire her.
But this came out of nowhere. We pulled down an old, good toy guitar that had been up in the closet for a generation, gave it to her, and she instantly started strumming it and singing a loud song with a definite lyric and beat.
As here, on the kitchen floor recently, with piano accompaniment.
Trouble is, none of us has the slightest idea what she's singing about.
