Nine Months
Another month flown by! How the girl has grown this month! Lily's had a voracious appetite the last couple of weeks and she's noticeably heavier, chunkier and longer. Part of her increased appetite is likely due to her discovery of the delights of table food. She now rarely wants her baby food and enthusiastically shares Mom and Dad's breakfast, lunch and dinner. She's also learning to feed herself. While it's no fun cleaning up after the girl, it is fun to watch her proudly devour a baby biscuit with no help. Despite active teething for a month now, there are still no visible signs of teeth. Each morning we check Lily's swollen gums for little pearly whites poking through and still there's nothing. Lily now gets a huge kick out of mimicking. She's learned a few tricks including vigorously shaking her head no, smakcing her lips and waving bye-bye, and she loves to make a game of getting other people to follow her lead and repeat the motions back to her.
(Edited to add that at her nine-month checkup, Lily weighed in at 16 lbs 4 oz and was 27 1/2 inches long).
And here's Lily enjoying some play time with her big brother Luke:
