Cabin Fever

With the snow and ice and bitterly cold temperatures this week, we didn't get out at all. Mom and baby trapped inside for a whole week. Gave us a terrible case of cabin fever. We finally got out today and went downtown to get coffee and peruse Market.

Baby's first snow. Notice the adorable hat knit by Mom from yarn she spun by hand.

At Market: procuring some tasty Middle Eastern fare from our friend Saife who, while counting our change, was trying to convince Jim, the spice guy with a stand across the way, to babysit Lily.

Hey! We tried to call over the weekend. Glad to see you've been out and about. Tom and I were wondering whether you've tried putting little Lily in the swing, which I think we lent you. She can recline slightly in it and the repetitive motion may help with sleep. Just a thought. Anxious to see you all soon.

Oh, we've tried the swing alright! And every other baby device and contraption known to man. She still prefers mama's arms if she's going to sleep at all...

You must feel helpless at times. Poor Lily. Poor Mommy. Poor Daddy. Luke, can't you do something about this?!

As soon as Mom-Maroon returns to lovely Niagara Falls, we'll have to make arrangements to sit with Lily for you guys. It'll be good experience for Tom and I. Who knows, our next little one could be similarly afflicted.

Sounds great! I'm sure we'd be happy to take you up on such a generous offer! We'll pay in beer :)

Wait, you're next little one?!? Cool! Lily will be thrilled to have more cousin-companions when the time comes...
