Merry Christmas

Christmas this year was long, harried, and exhausting, at least for the adults (Ok, at least for me. My near middle age is catching up with me, I think). Lily, on the other hand, was so completely delighted with the Christmas season and everything about it. I was so grateful for her enthusiasm. From the Christmas music playing incessantly from every noise-making device in the county, to the lights strung tastefully and otherwise from nearly every house, the girl couldn't get enough Christmas. Happily for her, our actual Christmas celebration was an extended 3-day orgy of food, family, and presents. I did a poor job of photo documentation this year, which is really too bad because Lily looked positively glowing in her various Christmas outfits. She had such a nice time visiting with family and playing with her cousins and other friends. She keeps asking me whether it will be Christmas again soon.

A tired Lily does her best to muster a little enthusiasm while swinging her jingle bell necklace for a rousing version of "Jingle Bells" sung by a strolling choir.

Thanks, Beth! We'd love to take you to Longwood! Our favorite time to visit is in February, when you think you just can't take one more minute of winter. You walk into the conservatory in full bloom, and you think you've died and gone to heaven :)
