Hilton Head-Savannah, Part II: Lily Discovers the Beach

The highlight of our vacation by far was our time spent at the beach in Hilton Head. The beaches there were lovely. Private and quiet, wide and clean. But best of all, Lily had the time of her life digging in the sand and playing in the water.

The girl learned to dig with a shovel and delightedly filled her bucket with sand, then emptied it, then filled it, then emptied it, then... you get the idea. She also fell in love with the ocean, so much so that she marched (ok, crawled) fearlessly into the oncoming waves, one after another, until we realized we would have to stop her because she wasn't about to stop herself. She was determined to be in the water, chilly as it was.
