Reflux Redux

After several days of inconsolable crying, erratic feedings and fitful sleep, we've discovered that Lily suffers from silent reflux. The 'silent' part of the diagnosis unfortunately does not refer to a quiet baby with wicked indigestion, but rather the absence of the most obvious symptom of reflux: spitting up. No, rather than puke all over her cute cache of stylish onesies, our girl politely swallows the sour gastric cocktail back down again for twice the burn.

The good news: most babies outgrow the problem by their first birthday. But really, as much as we adore this little fuss-pot, mom and dad would have no hair left if we had to wait that long. And so, the great news: there are a number of baby-safe medications that can soothe baby and restore parents' sanity. Hello Zantac! We try our first regimen of the glorious minty elixir today. Wish us luck!
